When the need for capacity of a 4m sowing unit is limited by road regulations, Kverneland is now offering the right solution with the folding u-drill 4001F for standard sowing and the u-drill plus 4001F for grain and fertiliser application.
Proven technology for optimum seed bed preparation and precise seed placement
The basis of the u-drill is the combination of an aggressive disc harrow section with 460mm discs followed by a large off-set wheel packer and the CD-coulter bar for most accurate seed bed preparation and seed application. The hopper is of 3000 litres capacity, feeding one ELDOS for the grain only model and two ELDOS metering devices for the grain and fertiliser version.
“Operator’s convenience together with precise and reliable performance have been convincing already with the rigid models of the u-drill and the 6m version. Of course, this applies also to the u-drill 4001F”, Daniel Northoff, product manager for seeding technology, explains. “Being fully controlled by the ISOBUS system, the u-drill 4001F has an integrated headland management which can be combined with our GPS steered function GEOCONTROL for further support”.
To optimise the performance of the u-drill 4001F, an additional front wheel packer and track eradicators are available and recommended for best results. Individual conditions vary; therefore, Kverneland offers a wide range of further options in order to adjust the u-drill to the specific needs and conditions.
The u-drill 4001F as “plus” version offers the possibility to apply the fertiliser in one pass together with the seeds. Depending on the requirements, the u-drill plus 4001F can deposit the fertiliser via the disc harrow in order to have a fertiliser depot in between the plant rows. Alternatively, the fertiliser can be mixed with the seeds and applied in the same line by the double-entry coulters. For those customers who want to change between the two systems, the u-drill plus can be equipped with both - allowing the customer to quickly adjust for the individual operation.
The u-drill 4000F combines innovative technology with proven know-how.
