We kick off this first edition in Greece with Ioannis Vas. Michalopoulos S.A, our trusted Kverneland importer, brings us closer to the local market and the farmers they work with every day.
Can you briefly introduce the company you work for and your role?
My name is Giannis Michalopoulos, owner and CEO of Ioannis Vas. Michalopoulos S.A. in Greece. I grew up in this business, and I stay very close to our customers. Being in daily contact with farmers helps us understand their needs and support them in a practical and honest way.
What are the main farming activities in your country or region?
In Greece, agriculture is quite diverse, with cereals, cotton, olives, vineyards and forage. Each region has its own character, so farmers need solutions that truly match their land and way of working.
Which Kverneland machines are most popular in your market, and why?
Ploughs, seed drills and mowing equipment are among the most popular. Over the past years, we have seen a steadily growing interest in Kverneland, as more farmers experience their consistency and performance in real field conditions.
What do farmers in your market value most when choosing agricultural equipment?
They value reliability but also trust. They want to know that someone understands their work and will stand by them when needed.
What do you like about Kverneland?
I appreciate the quality and the consistency. When a machine works properly in the field and is supported the right way, it naturally finds its place in the market and earns the farmer’s trust over time.
If you had to choose one Kverneland machine as the “hero” of your market, which would it be?
The plough. It’s a machine that is part of everyday farming life here and continues to prove its value year after year — because in the field, results speak louder than anything else.
For us, everything starts and ends with the farmer.
